GENERAL MANAGER

Martin Howarth

Martin has worked for us for 15 years. Having studied Economics  at University he has made his way through the company having  started in the factory. He then ran production and sales for 10 years. Currently he looks after the technical department while setting up our new production facility.

Technical Manager

Phil Morrison

Phil gained a Batchelor of Science Degree in Polymer Science & Technology from Manchester Polytechnic in the mid 1980’s. He has worked in the latex compounding industry for some 50 years, 30 of them with Formulated Polymer Products. His former employers include Industrial Latex Adhesives, Revertex Ltd., The Malaysian Rubber Development Corporation and British Vita (Vitec Composite Systems). He was based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia when working for the Malaysian Rubber Development Corporation. He has extensive knowledge of both natural and synthetic polymer dispersions and their formulation. He has worked with multiple end users tailoring products to their specific needs and processing equipment.

Technical Consultant

Steve Abbott

Steve has a BSc degree. Professionally, he has worked in the latex compounding and associated industries for over 40 years.
He has been employed in a research and development, technical service capacity by British Vita (Vitec and Vita latex), Mydrin, ILC and now FPP. Steve has a BSc degree  and has particular experience in flame retardant systems and blackout foam formulation

Roy Elliott

Roy has worked in the adhesive and packaging industry for nearly 40 years and is a former employee of Printpack, Sun/Swale Adhesives and Amcor Packaging.

Sales director

Michael Howarth

Michael studied business management and economics at Lancaster University. He has worked his way through the business after joining in 2013. Firstly, as a Production Operative to become our Production Manager for 7 years. He is now working with our sales team looking after and building relationships with our customers.

Darren Farthing

Darren holds an HNC Science (Polymer Technology) from Manchester Metropolitan University. With his time at ILC, PolyOne (Avient), Fothergill Polycom and Louvolite, Darren has broad experience in Sales and Operations Management and Product Development in a textile coating environment. His additional knowledge of Building and Construction products have given FPP a new lease of life in that area.

Production Manager

Laurie Marsden

Laurie started over 14 years ago in our factory in Ramsbottom. Throughout his time with the company he has shown a great work ethic and initiative, proving himself to be a successful line manager and later foreman. He has been working as our Production Manager for the last 7 months.

John Sheridan

John has more than 40 years experience in the industry, having worked previously for Industrial Latex Compounds and Industrial Latex Adhesives. He holds a NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety and is a Quality Systems lead auditor. He provides back-office support to ensure the smooth running of operations and administration.

Production Supervisor

Dave King

Dave is our longest serving employee having started when the company was founded. He has nearly 40 years manufacturing experience and extensive engineering knowledge.

LAboratory technician

Tom Briggs

Tom is the newest cog to the business having joined last year. He studied an MCHEM Chemistry degree at the University of Liverpool, where he completed projects and modules on polymer science. He currently works within the technical department on the R&D side for both textiles and packaging. Learning quickly from the vast experience of his colleagues.
