As a producer of chemical based products Formulated Polymers have been acutely aware that things need to change, and that we have a responsibility to manufacture products that have a minimal adverse effect on the environment. With this in mind we have devoted time and resources to seek out and evaluate new and novel alternatives to the chemicals we have traditionally used in our formulations. This is an ongoing long term project that will ultimately result in new products based on a range of different, much safer chemicals. We are therefore pleased to announce the first successful result of this on-going project. We are therefore launching new versions of all our products which are applied to upholstery fabrics to meet UK Furniture & Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations. These products were historically classified as Environmentally Hazardous Substances. We will no longer use these hazardous raw materials in any of our products. These revised formulations offer the same high levels of performance as their predecessors. There is no change in their flame retardant performance or processing characteristics.
