Flame Retardant Textile Back Coatings

FLAME RETARDANT TEXTILE BACK COATINGS

FP 1680 is a semi-clear, foamable flame retardant textile back coating for use on upholstery fabrics which are required to comply with BS 5852 ignition source 0 & 1. FP 1680 deposits a soft, flexible translucent film making it ideal for lightweight fabrics or those which need the coating to penetrate close to the fabric face.

Typical application weights for FP 1680 are between 20 – 25% dry add-on. The precise add-on required will vary with fabric composition and construction and should be determined by the end user.

Total Solids Content, % 52.0 – 56.0

Viscosity, cps, RVT 1,500 – 2,000

pH 9.0 – 10.5

FP 1680 is also available as a scrape coat.

FP 1759 is a foamable flame retardant textile back coating for use on upholstery fabrics which are required to comply with BS 5852 ignition source 0 & 1

Typical application weights for FP 1759 are between 20 – 25% dry add-on. The precise add-on required will vary with fabric composition and construction and should be determined by the end user.

Total Solids Content, % 48.0 – 52.0

Viscosity, cps, RVT 2,250 – 2,750

pH 9.0 – 10.5

FP 1759 is also available as a scrape coat.

FP 1910 is a ‘crushable’ stable foam flame retardant back coating for upholstery fabrics. It is formulated to comply with BS 5852 ignition source 0, 1 & 5. FP 1910 is specifically designed to achieve Crib 5 compliance.

Typical application weights for FP 1910 are between 20 – 30%. The precise add-on required will vary with fabric composition and construction and need to be determined by the end user.

Total Solids Content, % 50.0 – 54.0

Viscosity, cps, RVT 1,800 – 2,200

pH 8.50 – 9.5

 

FP 1956 is a very high performance foamable flame retardant textile back coating for use on upholstery fabrics which are required to comply with BS 5852 ignition source 0 & 1

Typical application weights for FP 1956 are between 20 – 30% dry add-on. The precise add-on required will vary with fabric composition and construction and should be determined by the end user.

Total Solids Content, % 56.0 – 60.0

Viscosity, cps, RVT 2,250 – 2,750

pH 9.0 – 10.5

 

FP 1956 is also available as a scrape coat.

 

 FLAME RETARDANT FOAM IMPREGNANTS

FP 1398 is a highly flame retardant impregnant for manufacturing acoustic foam insulation to comply with BS 476 Parts 6 & 7 (Class ‘O’ Building Regulations). Applications include acoustic engineering, air conditioning duct liner, very high fire risk mattresses & pillows, acoustic enclosures, acoustic wall panels and anechoic chambers.

Typical application weights for FP 1398 are between 400 and 450% dry add-on. The precise add-on required should be determined by the end user.

Total Solids Content, % 58.0 – 62.0

Viscosity, cps, LVF 250 – 500

pH 7.5 – 8.5

FP 1398 is also available at solids contents between 40 and 60%
